Aesop: AI editorial briefs and daily security newsletter

Aesop ingests RSS and external sources, classifies content (including EU-focused streams) and generates briefs with LLMs. MSIR newsletter drafts auto-fill from the last 24 hours and sync to Marketo — cutting manual editorial prep.

Client context

CRA publishes daily cybersecurity intelligence to a large subscriber base. Editors spent hours assembling newsletters from scattered sources; EU audience needed a separate content stream.

Challenge

Manual newsletter assembly before a hard subscription deadline; mixed US/EU content reduced relevance; integration across Aesop, WordPress CMS and Marketo had to preserve human editorial review.

What we did

  • Built Aesop pipelines (TypeScript/Bun) with OpenRouter LLM classification and brief generation.
  • Added European brief stream with AI regional filtering for regulators, companies and incidents.
  • Automated MSIR draft creation in WordPress with ACF, WP-Cron and Marketo campaign mapping.
  • Delivered MVP MSIR in 10 working days when a key vendor subscription was expiring.

Process

  1. Emergency MVP scoping with editorial and PM.
  2. Parallel env setup, migrations and frontend/back sync.
  3. Editorial review gate before Marketo send.
  4. Phase 2 backlog for post-MVP enhancements.

Result and impact

Daily MSIR shipped before vendor deadline; EU briefs test audience engagement; manual editorial prep time on routine assembly dropped.
